Re: Modifications to Dress Code
Dear Parents & Staff:
Due to several reasons we have chosen to modify a few areas regarding certain clothing options in our Harrison County Middle School Dress Code. We do not take these decisions lightly as we know that this has an impact on our students and their families. With that said, temperature variations in several of our building classrooms have necessitated our push to broaden student/family options. Below you will find the specifics to what we’ve modified. These are the ONLY items that have been modified.
These will start being enforced on MONDAY, JANUARY 26. Please feel free to contact me at or (859) 234-7123 if you have questions or need clarification on these decisions.
1. Solid color fleece pullovers (including zipped) may be worn over dress code compliant shirt. No “hooded” fleece except on administrator announced “dress-down” days.
2. Coats, oversized shirts, hats, etc. are STILL to be stored in the locker during the day.
Additional Notes:
Ø Also included as “acceptable” are the current collared ¼ zip pullovers by Under Armour (and similar brands) that are SOLID color.
Ø Like “shirts”, if a logo is present it can be no larger than a credit card.
Ø The collar or zipper may have a contrasting design.
Signed,
Michael E. McIntire
