·  View movie and analyze how it interprets and is different from the original novel; also examine documents from the war & compare/contrast how novel transforms events/documents (RL 7)
·  Examine multiple examples of propaganda (RI 7)
·  Analyze propaganda techniques & in pairs create and present a commercial using one of the techniques studied
·  In small groups write and present a skit/song/political cartoon based on the novel
·  Read article “Psychologists: Propaganda Works Better Than You Think” – with graphic organizer show how the ideas develop over the text (RI 3)
·  Analyze propaganda visuals – what problem do they address, what solution do they offer & link to the text (RI 7)
·  View or listen to political speeches and trace point of five, reasoning, etc. to show evidence of aspects in the standard (SL 3)
·  Select another historical event and write an allegorical narrative like Animal Farm that addresses all of the narrative standards (W 3)
·  Use the dictionary to determine correct meaning of multiple meaning words in novel (L 1b)
