1. Introduction

The only accepted languages for work submission are Spanish and English. This is a guide for writing your manuscripts; it is recommended to use this template, just place your contents in the corresponding spaces.

2. General Format

All material must be kept in letter page size, using 2.5 cm for upper and lower margins, and 3 cm for left and right margins, in a two-column format; Text must be fully justified, and every text or image must be kept within the column area. There is a format sheet at the end of this document, showing the placement and specifications for both margins and blocks included in the format.

3. Main Title

The main title is to be at the top of the first page, centered, and in 14-point, boldface type Arial. The first letter of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs must be capitalized; the first letter of articles, conjunctions or prepositions must be capitalized, too, if one of them is the title´s first word. Leave a two-line space after this title, using 12-point type.

4. Author name(s) and Affiliation(s)

Author names should be centered with the main title, using a 12-point, non-boldface Arial type; if there are more than one author place them in a two- or three-column format, and write their affiliations centered and italicized below the names. Include email addresses, if any. Leave a two-line space after this section, using 12-point type.

5. Second and Following Pages

Text in second and following pages should begin immediately after the upper margin, using the two-column format mentioned before.

6. Main Text

The body (text) of the article must be in 10-point Arial, single-spaced. Every paragraph should be indented 0.5 cm, and they must be completely justified (both left and right sides). No additional blank lines are allowed between paragraphs. It is recommended that any figure or table should be in a vectorized format, such as Windows metafile or enhanced metafile, in order to assure a minimum printing quality.

Captions for tables, graphs and figures should be in 9-point Times, boldface type. Tables and figures must be numbered separately, capitalizing only the first Word of each caption; figure captions are to be centered below the image, while table captions are to be centered above the element they depict. A reference in the text is needed for every figure or table. Examples:

Figure 1. Figure title

Table 1. Table title

7. First-order Headings

They must be in 12-point Arial, boldface type, left justified, with a blank row before and after the heading; use a dot after the title number.

7.1. Second-order headings

Format them as the first-level headings, but using 11-point type.

7.1.1. Third-order headings. The use of this kind of headings is not recommended; however, if they are required, they must be written with 10-point Arial, boldface type; include a dot as a separation between the heading and the text in the same line.

8. Footnotes

Avoid using footnotes as much as possible; if required, placed them at the bottom of the column they are referenced. Use 8-point Times, single- spaced type.

9. References

Include and number every reference, (not only bibliographical references), in a list at the end of the article. Use 9-point Arial, single-spaced type; any reference included in the text must be enclosed in rectangular brackets. Examples:

[1] Author list using commas as separators, name and last name, Article Title, Journal, Publisher, Place, Date, pp. 1-10.

[2] Author list using commas as separators, name and last name, Book Title, Editorial, Place, date.

[3] Page or segment author. Date of publication or last actualization, Title of the Page, Access or recovering date, URL address.
