SCOPE OF WORK: To develop curricula and coordinate course delivery and program activities for the Project SEARCH Program at Great Bay Community College. The Project SEARCH program serves students with developmental disabilities. This position reports to the Director of Community Education at Great Bay Community College.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Coordinates the overall Project SEARCH Program. Develops, implements and evaluates curricula in accordance with standards set forth by accrediting or professional agencies, maintains and updates course/program documents and develops and manages the program budget.

· Performs administrative operations of the program including the selection, monitoring and evaluation of internship sites and coordination of career exploration activities. Collaborates with the intern sites to provide internship training for supervisors, establish intern rotations, job assignments, writes job descriptions and monitors daily progress as needed.

· Supervises student learning activities and intern responsibilities on a daily basis, monitors academic and employability skills progress and maintains accurate records of student progress and accomplishments and is responsible for monthly reports.

· Participates in program activities and supports program operations by assisting with marketing strategies, cultivating collaborative relationship with business and industry within the healthcare field and engaging in outreach to educational partners.

· Assists with development and implementation of college sponsored recruitment activities including career and job fairs, student orientations, registration and award ceremonies.

· Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in counseling, social sciences, psychology, special education or education. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Three (3) years professional or paraprofessional experience in education, social work or mental health working with developmentally disabled youth or adults with responsibility for program implementation, direct service delivery, planning or program evaluation. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year for required formal education.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: A criminal history and driver’s record check in accordance with RSA 189:13-A and Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services (BEAS) Register.

License/Certification: Possession of a valid driver’s license.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Some knowledge of federal and state laws or regulations governing the program to which assigned, and of federal and community resources and organizations. Knowledge of research and planning methods and techniques. Ability to write technical information. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to understand and interpret the functional interrelationship of policy, regulations and procedures and to evaluate the impact on programs. Ability to detect and define problem areas and causes and to create and develop effective solutions, including the exercise of sound judgment in evaluating situations, planning action, making decisions and setting priorities. Ability to work with and secure the cooperation of others. Ability to maintain comprehensive records of the progress and development of the individual student. Evidence of good professional attitude. Ability to work independently to develop new or alternative approaches to meet changing and variable conditions. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
