EXCHANGE CLUB ENCOURAGES AMERICANISM

Local Group Hosts Event to Help Register/Educate Voters

Americans are given the freedom of choice — to choose which candidate to elect, or whether to vote at all. When compared to the number of eligible voters in America, those who actually vote is alarming. In 2012, according to Pew Research, just more than 53% of eligible Americans cast a vote. Additionally, among developed nations, the United States is 31st out of 34 countries in regards to voting-age citizens who are actually registered to vote. The National Exchange Club wants to help change those statistics.

Adopted in 1996, Exchange’s Get Out the Vote program seeks to educate and encourage American citizens about how to become registered voters, and how vote in political elections. The month of September has been designated as “Voter Registration Month”.

To help encourage voter participation the Exchange Club of (name) will host a Get Out The Vote event on (date/time) at (venue name/address). (Use this release to add details about where and when voter registration booths will be set up. If release is to announce voter services provided on Election Day, list all services and how individuals can get in touch with volunteers.)

Community members are invited to come out and get registered to vote, and learn more about the important role each of us plays in the democratic process.
