FESTIVAL MUSIC WILL HIT EVERYTHING FROM

CLASSIC ROCK TO ALTERNATIVE AND POP

TEMECULA, CA - Varietals are the spice of life at the 2016 The Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival and that includes the musical entertainment with classic rock tributes, EDM Djs, alternative and alternative rock all performing during the three day event May 20-22. Saturday bands and performers include Jimmy Eat World, Neon Trees, Chalk FarM, Meesha Black, Los Angeles party DJ Orion, and local Rising Stars from iHeart radio's Q 103.3 and Radio 94.5 World Class Rock.

Jimmy Eat World, an Alternative/Rock band, is fresh from the studio cutting a new album. The group made their commercial breakthrough in 2001 with the platinum-selling album "Bleed American." The album spawned four top hits on the Modern Rock Tracks, and #1 on the charts with "The Middle." The single was featured on the video games "Rock Band 2" and "Guitar Hero World Tour." Their sixth album, "Chase This Light" became the groups highest charting album, peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.

The band is composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Jim Adkins, guitarist and backing vocalist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch and drummer Zach Lind. As of June 2013, Jimmy Eat World have released eight studio albums, the last seven featuring the current lineup.

The Temecula Valley grows some talented musicians, vocalists and stars. The most recent, 16-year-old Cole Criske who was on Team Blake Shelton of the Voice last fall. Yet, Neon Trees, with Murrieta natives, Tyler Glenn and Chris Allan, are one of the most successful of recent years. The band, now a four-piece, includes bass Branden Campbell and Elaine Bradley, drums.

Known for their melodic rock tunes that crossover to pop, Neon Trees first broke into the charts in 2010 with the hit songs "Animal" and "1983" from the album "Habits." Their 2012 album topped No. 5 on the Pop charts, and No. 9 on the Rock charts and included the hits "Everybody Talks" and "Lessons in Love." "Sleeping With a Friend," from the 2014 album "Pop Psychology" earned the group a Radio Industry Association of America Gold. "Pop Psychology" peaked at No. 1. for Alternative and Rock Charts after its April 2014 release.

The band released a non-album single entitled "Songs I Can't Listen To" and an accompanying music video featuring Dustin Lance Black in 2015.

Chalk FarM and Meesha Black open Saturday . Chalk FarM, a Los Angeles-based alternative rock quartet was originally formed as in 1994. Columbia Records signed the act in December 1995. A year later they released “Notwithstanding,” an album of accessible guitar rock that drew comparisons to the acoustic pop of Toad the Wet Sprocket.

For rock fans that prefer Classic Rock, Hotel California offers a tribute to the Eagles, Sunday, May 22, on the Wine Garden Stage. For more than two decades, Hotel California has touched the hearts of fans all over the world, by faithfully and accurately reproducing the Grammy award winning sounds of the Eagles. This dynamic, highly acclaimed show incorporates their very own world renowned vocal harmony, and authentic instrumentation, including all specialty instruments in a stage spectacle that is both modern and exciting. Each concert presents an exciting, showcase of The Eagles megahits such as “Take it Easy” “Heartache Tonight” and of course “Hotel California” as well as selected titles from the solo works of Don Henley, Glen Frey, and Joe Walsh.

Another classic rock icon will be represented in the Evening Balloon Glows* Friday and Saturday night. Dancing to the sci-fi and alien-oriented soundtracks like "Close Encounters" and "Star Wars," the hot air balloons will also ignite their burners to the late David Bowie's "Space Oddity," and "Starman."

Immediately following the Friday and Saturday evening glows, the Festival is going back to its glow roots, but kicking things up a notch with dance party fun by bringing in Los Angeles Djs Pasha on Friday, and Orion on Saturday. Acclaimed for their ability to connect with the audience, the DJs are considered some of the top in Los Angeles.

Held at Lake Skinner Recreation Area, The Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival is produced by a non-profit association in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country.
