Who should attend this training?

Anyone who is interested in learning more about Person-Centered Thinking – including, but not limited to; parents, caregivers, staff from the Division of Developmental Disabilities, Person-Centered Planning facilitators, community network and provider staff, educators, etc.

What is Person-Centered Thinking ?

An approach that supports individuals with developmental disabilities to move from a life defined by formal services to a life immersed in their community. Person-Centered Thinking emphasizes the building of relationships and natural supports and is the foundation of Person-Centered Plans (PCPs). PCPs help individuals to express their dreams and develop a journey to accomplish them.

What can I expect from this training?

· You will gain the skills and knowledge needed to practice Person-Centered Thinking

· You will be able to apply the concepts of Person-Centered Thinking to all areas of your life –work, home, community, etc

· You will have the opportunity to enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families
