The contemplated "candy cop" initiative is completely untenable and dangerous for many reasons---not to mention it is more unwelcome government where none is needed.

By putting more users in the preserve, the impacts are greater--period.

By putting these "volunteer candy cops" in the woods, the probability of conflicts between users and these ill trained intermeddlers is a certainty. Ask yourselves--what is the "problem" we are fixing? The answer is---there isn't one--it is self created by well intentioned people who have zero idea what REALLY goes on in the preserve. When is the last time any of you spent the weekend in the preserve---not helicoptering around or being chauffeured, but actually using the preserve?

So lets recap---you are going to spend money on equipment you don;t need, raise your maintenance costs, endanger ill trained do gooders, upset hunters and sportsmen, infringe on our cultural users protected by law, and accomplish nothing but more ill will toward the Preserve employees.

Gotta love government. Regards, Charles Morehead
