Rolling Thunder Newsletter

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Friends of Elkridge Landing,

Happy Spring Break!

Now that we are entering our final weeks of the school year, I wanted to share some important reminders with parents. I will be reviewing all of this on Thunder TV with the students as well as the dress guidelines during the week of April 4.

Prepared-

Do you know where your iPad, case, and charger are?? While the iPads are in their carts here at school over break, take some time to locate the accessories you have at home. How about the textbooks you were issued back in September? All of these items will need to be turned in at the end of the year in a condition that will allow them to be re-issued to students next year. Make sure you are taking good care of the materials and equipment and know where each piece is. Meaningful work will continue to occur in all of your classes right up until the end of school and you will need to be prepared to complete it with all required materials.

Responsible-

It is very important that everyone adhere to the school rules as well as the guidelines in the technology agreement you signed. Students should not be taking photos unless it is for an assignment for class. You should only be using your own iPad during class and report any problems with your iPad right away. Poor behavior in any school setting can mean students will miss out on end-of-year activities. Make sure you are holding yourself to the same standards you have all year. Report any problems right away so adults can help you. We have lots of fun activities planned for the end of the year and we want all of our students to be able to participate. Work hard THEN play hard!

Respectful-

Please make an extra effort to be kind to your teachers and each other during the last few weeks of school. Everyone has worked very hard this year and as a school, we have accomplished a lot. Don’t let spring fever get in the way of what still needs to get done.

Safe-

Now that the weather is warming I hope everyone is spending a lot more time outdoors. Please make sure the adults in your lives know where you are. Always get permission before going to a friend’s house after school. Students are expected to follow their normal transportation procedures unless we have a note from a parent indicating an alternate plan.

Classes will resume on Monday, April 4 and it will be an A day.
