ABB Launches ‘MagMaster Micro-Mag’ for Low Flow Rates
The unrivalled performance capability of ABB’s MagMaster electromagnetic flowmeters - proven in numerous comparison studies throughout the world - has now been extended to accommodate very small pipe sizes for low flow rate applications in the chemical, water treatment, pharmaceutical and many other process industries.
The new ‘MagMaster Micro-Mag’ from ABB Kent-Taylor comes in bore sizes 3, 6, 9 and 12mm (1/8, 1/4, 3/8 and 15/32 inch) with wafer end connections. With the 3mm meter, flows as low as 0.19 litres (0.05 US gallons) per minute can be measured at operating pressures up to 720 psi (50 bar) with fully traceable flow performance and accuracy of ± 0.5% of reading.
MagMaster Mico-Mag measures flow in both directions and features standard Teflon (PTFE) lining and a choice of corrosion-resistant electrode materials. Protected when installed to IP65/NEMA 4X, the instruments come with a two-year warranty and, in line with other MagMaster products, are designed, manufactured and calibrated to international standards. The associated transmitter can be mounted either directly on to the sensor or remotely.
With the new fractional sizes in place, the ABB MagMaster flowmetering concept can now be used on pipe sizes ranging from 3mm through to 2,200mm - covering the entire spectrum of industrial processing and water/waste water applications.
