Responsible for classroom instruction. Taught kindergarten, second

and third grades. Served on school based committees including the

campus planning and organizational committee. Participated in mentor teacher training and served as a mentor teacher for new teachers. Served as a collaborating teacher for student teachers. Wrote curriculum and provided in-service sessions for the district.

Organized, planned, and provided professional development for teachers seeking to become literacy coordinators in their schools. Conducted site visits and worked with principals and district personnel on establishing and maintaining a literacy collaborative campus. Worked with the director of the project to establish budget, order materials, and coordinate the varying needs related to the project.

Coordinated field placement for AmeriCorps volunteers. Coached the volunteers as they worked with students in the public schools. Taught a weekly class on teaching reading and writing to the AmeriCorps volunteers. Assisted with the organization and carry out of community based projects related to the AmeriCorps project. Participated in recruiting volunteers.
