Don’t Make Smokes Your Story Toolkit
Welcome
Welcome to the Don’t Make Smokes Your Story toolkit. This toolkit is intended to provide organisations with access to materials to help reduce the smoking rate nationally and provide information on the support tools available.
The Tackling Indigenous Smoking National Coordinator, Professor Tom Calma, is calling on everyone to work together to create healthier communities:
“I encourage my brothers and sisters, Aunties and Uncles and our young ones to give up smoking, avoid taking it up, and help others you care about to choose the no smoking path, so we can all live long and healthy lives.”
About the Campaign
The National Tobacco Campaign aims to encourage smokers and their families to make a quit attempt, to support current quitters in maintaining their quit status, and to help them reduce their chance of relapse.
The Don’t Make Smokes Your Story campaign first launched on 1 May 2016 with the primary focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander smokers and recent quitters aged 18-40 years and their families.
