We have an exciting Ph.D. and post-doctoral training opportunity in leading-edge food processing engineering. Our food program laboratory has equipped many advanced facilities for research such as Pilot-scale 27, 915 and 2,450 MHz RF and microwave heating systems, HP dielectric measurement system, FISO fiber-optic sensors and Delta-T data logger system. Recently, we have got several funding from USDA-IFAFS, USDA-NRI, and BARD.

1. Post-Doctorate Position (two years): Background in food and biopolymer chemistry and rheology, strong in math and chemistry, ability to adopt to a new research environment, Ph.D. degree, strong publication records.

2. Post-Doctorate (three years) or Ph.D. student Position: Background in entomology, and related ability to interact with researchers in other disciplines (engineering and horticulture), Post-doctorate position should have strong publication records. The Ph.D. student will have the same benefit as the following.

3. Ph.D. student, pursuing a Ph.D. in Food Engineering: MS degree in Food Engineering, Electric Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, dedicated and having ability to adopt to a new direction, a creative researcher and a team player. Stipends: $14,000 per year, plus tuition, health care and insurance.
