POSITION SUMMARY
Plan, direct, and coordinate the academic, administrative, or auxiliary activities of the learning community. Lead the school and learning community in implementing the philosophy, belief system and principles of the charter and the organization and moving towards achievement of the school and organization visions, missions and goals in the pursuit of excellence. Supervises the work of the faculty and staff in the school in order to meet the goals and objectives of the organization as well as the standards set by the state and federal government.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
• / Develop marketing plan for the opening and operation of new school in Seguin Community.
Develop community relationships to promote SWPS and opportunities for partnerships with the Seguin community facilitating the opening of the campus by August 1, 2016.
Provide primary leadership for the creation and maintenance of a positive work and learning environment.
• / Manage day-to-day operations of the school and related programs and supervises the work of the faculty and staff in the school in order to meet the goals and objectives of the organization as well as the standards set by the state and federal government.
• / Promote and implement the organizational philosophy as well as the school's educational vision in accordance with district policy, local, state and federal regulations and consistent with the needs of the students and staff as identified in the campus improvement plan
• / Consistently monitors the enrollment and attendance process to ensure that the school maintains its full enrollment status as well as the highest daily attendance percentage that is possible.
• / Recommends personnel actions related to placement, transfer, retention, promotion and dismissal.
• / Develops and administers the school budget based upon documented program needs, estimated enrollment, personnel and other fiscal needs.
• / Implements programs within budget limits, by maintaining fiscal control in allocating resources to accomplish the goals and objectives of the school.
• / Assist district leadership providing instructional leadership, resources and materials to support staff in accomplishing instructional goals and ensures that decisions are properly implemented.
• / Consistently manages all operations of the front office staff and holds staff accountable for following all district procedures and policies.
• / Provides leadership in addressing challenges facing the profession and pursues professional development activities.
• / Disseminates ideas and information to staff.
• / Communicates effectively and consistently with superintendent, cabinet and appropriate district office administration and staff.
• / Observes and insists that others observe professional ethical standards in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Texas Educators Code of Ethics.
• / Participate in special education-related activities such as attending meetings and providing support to special educators throughout the district.
• / Organize and direct committees of specialists, volunteers, and staff to provide technical and advisory assistance for programs.
• / Observe teaching methods and examine learning materials to evaluate and standardize curricula and teaching techniques, and to determine areas where improvement is needed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: / Master’s Degree with Texas Principal’s Certification or Mid-Management
Experience: / 3 plus years of experience in supervision is preferred
Prior Principal Experience, preferred.
Other Requirements: / Individual must be a proven problem solver with the ability to encourage others in collaborative problem solving.
Must be able to organize and manage multiple priorities and/or projects by using appropriate methodologies and tools.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with staff and management.
