Dear Students and Parents of the Class of 2019,
Welcome to Sparrows Point High School and to the 2015 – 2016 school year! Our names are Stephanie Whitehead and Kristine Saja. We will be the class advisors for the next four years of your high school journey. Our job is to facilitate your class having an amazing high school experience beyond the academics and athletics in which you already participate.
In addition to pursuing academic excellence, you have the opportunity to take part in many social activities with your fellow Class of 2019 peers. These activities include junior prom, the junior ring ceremony, the senior prom, and the senior picnic. All of these events come with costs for music, decorations, food, etc…. Since these costs are not covered by the county or the school we rely on your participation and effort to help raise funds for these memorable events. In addition to fund raising efforts, we also collect class dues. The schedule for class dues is as follows:

We realize that many groups are seeking funding in our small community and that is why we really need your participation in the limited number of fundraisers that we do. The approximate cost of the senior prom alone is $20,000. The senior picnic is about $5,000. This does not even include other less expensive events such as the junior prom or ring ceremony. Your class dues will cover a percentage of this. We are here as liaisons between you and the vendors, school officials, and county policies and regulations. We will help you navigate through planning and executing these events. We cannot do the fundraising for you. Our first fundraiser will be selling environmentally conscious products such as t-shirts, jewelry and unique and fun household items through the company Nature’s Vision. You will be given materials via your English teacher when we kickoff this great fundraiser!
Freshman Class Elections! From NOW – September 11th, pick up an application outside room 108 (back door) or room 17. You must have completed application and a draft of your speech submitted by the due date of September!
Parent Booster Club Parents are welcome and encouraged to form a booster club to supplement fundraising for the Class of 2019. SPHS and us as class advisors cannot be affiliated with the parent booster club. Your fundraisers are your own and you must maintain of club funds separately. Please email Ms. Saja () your information if you would like to spearhead this effort.

Hoodies will feature a similar design. Sweatpants will have Class of 2019 text only on one leg. All items are gray with royal blue text. The cost of hoodies will be about $24 and the cost of sweatpants will be about $22. In order to collect payment and submit this order, we must have a minimum of 24 of each item sold. If enough interest is expressed, we will move forward with the order. Your student will be notified.
