North Wales Elementary School Select Choir

Dear Select Choir Families,

This e-mail contains very important information concerning our Music in the Parks trip this Saturday.

Weather: We perform regardless of weather conditions. Unless the forecast is 100% precipitation all day, we will go to the park. That being said, it’s worth noting that some of our best park days have been grey and cloudy. If weather is questionable, I will be in touch via Remind.com.

Our itinerary:

7:15 am Gather at North Wales Elementary School flagpole

7:25 am Leave North Wales for Fleetwood M.S. (performance location)

All students are to ride the bus to the performance, regardless of whether they will be traveling home with their family. I must be notified in writing of any student who will not be riding the bus home.

8:35 am Arrive at Fleetwood Area Middle School

9:00 am Warm up

9:20 am Perform for adjudicators at Fleetwood Area M.S.

9:40 am Listen to Penndale Camerata performance

10:00 am Leave Fleetwood Area M. S. for Dorney Park

10:30 am Arrive at Dorney Park, change into park clothes

10:40 am Assemble chaperone groups at Dorney front gate

4:50 pm Gather in Food Fest Grove for Awards Ceremony

5:00 pm Awards Ceremony in Dorney Park

7:00 pm Leave Dorney Park for North Wales

8:00 pm Arrive at North Wales

The address for Fleetwood Area Middle School is: 407 North Richmond Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522

Families who have ordered discount park tickets through me should meet us at the park gate at 10:40am to pick up their tickets. Please note that I will only be handling tickets that were ordered in advance, but if you will be at Fleetwood Area Middle School for the performance you can purchase tickets while we are there for $30 each.

Please be sure that students eat breakfast before the performance! Students may bring a water bottle along on the bus, but no other drinks, please. Students who suffer from travel sickness should take their preventative medication before arriving at school.

Students should arrive at North Wales dressed for the performance: Select Choir T-shirt on the top (shirts will be distributed on Friday during school), and black on the bottom, with a formal performance look (not casual shorts.) Black shoes are preferred. Students should bring separate bottoms and comfortable shoes to change into for their day at the park. Wildwater Kingdom is not yet open, so swimwear will not be necessary, although there are water rides in Dorney. The Select Choir T-shirts are white, and girls who plan to ride the water rides that are open should wear swimsuits under their clothing. Anyone planning to ride the water rides should pack dry clothing and a towel.

Student meals are not included in this festival. If you wish to pack lunch you may do so, and your child and their chaperone will arrange to pick it up at the bus. Buying lunch in the park is less complicated, but more expensive.

Good ideas:

Ø Sunscreen and sunglasses

Ø Spending money for meals, snacks, and souvenirs

Ø A sweater or sweatshirt just in case it gets cool, an extra set of clothes if you plan to ride water rides.

Ø Comfortable shoes – we’ll be on our feet all day!

See you bright and early on Saturday, May 6 – the bus leaves at 7:25!
