Dear Newly Benefited Employee,
Prior to being eligible for enrollment in the University of Denver's 403(b) Basic/Match Retirement Plan with TIAA-CREF, employees hired on or after January 1, 1992 must have been employed by a qualified educational institution for at least 1 continuous year (or 12 consecutive months) with a minimum of 1,000 hours worked in that period of time.
If you believe that your prior employment meets the eligibility requirement listed above and you would like to begin participation in our Basic 403(b) Retirement Plan, please fill out and sign the Retirement Plan Eligibility Form located on the reverse side of this letter.
In addition to this eligibility form, if you wish to enroll in the DU Retirement Plan you will need to do the following:
1. Complete and sign a Salary Reduction Agreement Form (enclosed) to designate and authorize the deduction of contributions from your pay;
2. Set up your 403(b) retirement account with TIAA-CREF. You may set up your TIAA CREF 403(b) account online -please see instructions on our TIAA-CREF How to Enroll Online handout.
Both the Salary Reduction Agreement Form and the TIAA-CREF How to Enroll Online handout can be found in our 403(b) retirement packet. Packets are available at all New Hire Orientation sessions or by contacting the Office of Total Rewards at Ext. 17420 or .
