Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Your Director!

Why I got started…

I started my Mary Kay business in August 2008. At that time, I found myself looking for a way to save for my children’s college, pay back my MBA student loan, make enough money to afford nicer vacations and pay cash for those unplanned and non-routine expenses. I attended skin care party and a bridal party makeover event with my sister and I fell in-love with the products and the personalized service. The opportunity excited me. I knew I would be a customer for life. There was so much to gain and nothing to lose. It was $100 decision and I had already decided I would spend that and so much more on the next set of products I wanted to purchase. So, I decided to become a consultant! I figured I could earn the money needed for the upcoming destination wedding I was a part of and get my products at a discount. Well, what I didn’t know was the gift of OPPORTUNITY that came inside my starter kit!!! I not only paid for that trip. I also earned 2 free cars, 2 free cruises and several weekend getaways, jewelry, recognition, fun girlfriends, parties and prizes galore! I became very passionate about sharing this opportunity with women because I wanted their lives to be enriched as much or even more than my life was because of this great opportunity. It amazes me how flexible and workable this business is even with long hours, an inflexible job and a demanding schedule. I went on-pace for my first free car in March of 2011! I went into DIQ (Director In Qualification) on June 1st, 2011, and earned a brand new 2012 Chevy Malibu that same month. I finished DIQ in August 2011 and became an Independent Sales Director on September 1st, 2011! All while working a full time job sometimes 70-80 hour a week! I off sprang my first sales director, Nathalee Gordon, on July 1st, 2012 and she earned her first free car May 31st, 2012. The MOST impressive thing that this business has provided me with is HOPE. Hope, that I will not have to continue working at an inflexible job on someone else terms and schedule for the rest of my life. I have hope that I can lead the kind of lifestyle some only dream of, the kind of life God intended me to lead. I have hope that I can live a purpose driven life, impacting others lives positively each day through the products and the opportunity! This is just the beginning of the journey for me and I’m so excited for all that lies ahead and to share that journey with you!

Other tidbits about me…

Single mother of a 12 year old boy and a 19 year old girl. My daughter is a sophomore at Towson University and my son is in the 7th grade. My son has Marfan syndrome, a connective tissue disorder that affects his eyes, heart, blood vessels, bones and joints. He leads a relatively normal life with lots of doctor visits, few surgeries and preventative and maintenance care. My children have benefited a great deal from the Mary Kay opportunity. It has thought them to set goals, reach for the moon and lots of positive self talk. My daughter was especially happy to receive my car which I handed over to her when I earned my first free car. I am passionate about raising awareness and giving back to the Marfan foundation. I believe my faith is the foundation of my success because with Christ all things are possible! J
