In 1999 when French designers started the brand Freelook in Paris, their goal was to fill the void between luxury and fashion watches. The watches were sold at Galleries La Fayette (“The” department store in Paris). Influenced by the Paris runways and its’ fashionable environment, Freelook quickly became a favorite of many magazine editors and was and still is sported by celebrities and featured in several magazine editorials monthly. In 2003 Freelook was launched internationally at the Basel watch fair (the largest and most prestigious watch fair in the world) and was awarded the “prix d’excellence” by the AJA. In 2004 the company launched Stateside selling to high-end retailers such as Fred Segal in Los Angeles, Henri Bendel in New York City, Jennifer Miller in the Hamptons and the trendy online retailer ShopBop.com.

The name

o The name Freelook is derived from two words.

o Free: as in Free spirit, Free movement, Free design and Free thinking.

o Look: as in having a certain look-stylish, avant-garde or trendy.

o Freelook is pronounced as one word.

Price points

o Watches generally retail between $150 and $500.

Watch origin

o Freelook is a French brand based in Paris. Most of the collection is made with the most reliable Miyota Japanese movements made by Citizen Japan, the largest movement manufacturer in the world.

o When available, Freelook uses French “France Ebauche” movements for two hand watches. But since the majority of our collection consists of Chronographs (which is not Made in France) and 3 hand watches, we typically use the Japanese Miyota Movement.

Best selling collections

o Cortina: Roman Numeral and Chronograph. (Style # HA1136,HA1134,HA1234)

o Aquamarina: Silcone or Metal band, great for everyday, beach or travel. (Style # HA5303,HA6303)

o Aquaceramica: Genuine Ceramic watches with sapphire glass.(Style # HA5108,HA5109,HA5110,HA5111)

o Aqua-Jelly: Great for everyday, soft colorful silcone bands. (Style # HA9035)

o Sea-diver : Great for the beach and everyday, fun watches with a dose of color (Silicone or plasteramic band)

Water resistance

o Most of the collection is water resistant up to 30, 50 and 100 meters.

o 30 Meters: Suitable for everyday use. Splash / rain resistant. NOT suitable for swimming, snorkeling, water related work and fishing.

o 50 Meters: Suitable for swimming, white water rafting, no snorkeling, water related work, and fishing.

o 100 Meters: Suitable for recreational surfing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing and water sports.

o The reason 30 Meters and 50 Meters are not ok for diving or jumping into water is because the movement of your hand in water adds pressure on the seals and gaskets.

Materials

o Most watches are made of stainless steel or plated stainless steel. For different looks watches are then plated with ionic plating in gold or rose gold.

o Almost all leather bands are genuine, made and designed in France or Italy.

o Many watches have bands made of silicone. It is softer than rubber or plastic, making the watch pleasant and comfortable to wear. Silicone does not usually absorb dirt and is washable.

o Mother of pearl is genuine in all MOP watches.

o All crystals used in Freelook watches are Grade A Swarovski crystals.

Warranty

o Freelook watches are warranted for one year.

o Scratches or abusive treatment of the watch are not covered under the warranty.

o Plating is not covered by the warranty as we cannot control how the watch is used.

o Most plating problems are due to the band coming in contact with a hard surface like a desk or counter top and usually affect the buckle part of the band or the side of the band from 12’oclock to the buckle as seen in the images below.

o

o This is NOT covered under the warranty, and is NOT considered a defect. Having said that, we do offer an exchange service for plated watches at a service fee that covers the band replacement cost.

o The band, lens and battery are not covered by the warranty.

o Beyond a year, Freelook will still repair watches however there may be a charge.

o Freelook would prefer to deal directly with the customer. You can give them this email to contact us directly.

Here is some information that will help your plated watch look newer longer.

“I am very pretty but need special care to stay looking gorgeous for you.

Even though I am water resistant, I don’t like getting wet as salt water or chlorine make me age faster.

I don’t like perfume, hairspray or any kind of lotion, they irritate my skin.

Since I am only gold plated, scratching me repeatedly against a hard surface such as a desk or countertop will make my color fade or change.

Oh by the way, even though I like you, I prefer that we didn’t sleep together! ”

Thanks,

The Freelook Team
