Puppy picnic raises money for humane education and spay/neuter programs
Chica and Jo -- those crafty mavens from ChicaAndJo.com, the Web site that promises to help us with "tackling life one project at a time – supported one of their favorite charitable causes this past weekend. They were present at a puppy picnic raising money for humane education and local spay/neuter programs. They donated a portion of their proceeds to the cause.
The girls said they are both dog owners so when they were asked to set up a booth at the event, they were thrilled to help out the cause. Besides the crafting booths, there was live music, frisbee competitions, agility trials and a look-a-like contest among many others. Chica and Jo made all-natural dog biscuits to sell and to give away to the dogs that stopped by to visit their booth.
Jo says, “my dog and I had a great time at the event. She loved getting all the attention of the other dog owners and the many treats the kids gave her. I loved getting a chance to meet our readers in person for a change and to meet a lot of new people…and dogs!”
