Degree – Environmental Biology – Liverpool University

1991 – 1992 Campaign coordinator for Děti země (Children of the Earth), an environmental activity group, the campaign was focused on pesticides and highlighted usage here in the then Czechoslovakia.

1992 – 1993 Freelance work as a teacher

1993 – 2003 Working at the Czech Environmental Institute in the Department of Conceptual Design on the role and usage of environmental indicators, then moving to the Environmental Economics Dept. working on a Czech - English dictionary of environmental economics terms and a collation of the economic instruments used by governments around the world. I then transferred to the Environmental Risk Assessment Dept where I worked on maps depicting critical loads for the Czech Republic, which was part of the European Monitoring and Evaluation Programme (EMEP ).

In 2003 I left the institute and started work as a freelance translator working with various translation agencies and also working with Prague Zoo, the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně, Pegasfilm (a film production company), TIM a tourist information magazine, the Institute for Economic and Environmental Policy (IEEP) and various individuals that require my services.

The portfolio of my work includes Ringier (the Swiss publishing house), the Ministry of Agriculture (reports on the usage of grants for the European Union), 2N (a telecom company), Telefónica O2 and countless other letters, reports and documents.

I moved to Czechoslovakia in 1991, shortly after acquiring my degree, and have lived here ever since. This has given me an intimate knowledge of the cultural and political changes in the country from the time of the “Velvet Revolution” to the present.

My interests include Taekwondo, cycling, swimming, running, reading, gardening, music, dance and cooking.
