The mere mention of White Star Running suggests tough or quirky and this certainly lived up to its reputation of quirky, a brilliant fun event. 12 hours to do as many or as few 10k laps you want to do (first lap 12k) in order to get the most amazing bling and goody bag. Pat and Pam completed 8 miles, Simon completed 13.5 miles. Simon decided to test out a small part of Sunday’s half marathon route! As well as the 12 hour event the weekend included a 50 mile ultra and half marathon on the Sunday

Bristol 10k – Sunday 7 May

Jan and Eric in Bristol along with over 11,000 other runners. Weather conditions were ideal, well organised event and scenic flat course [no hills!]. Eric 48:06 [2nd MV60] with Jan 50:00 [3rd FV60]. A couple of comments from Eric said it was not a race for a pb unless you are an elite runner, also they had to run to the start, which wasn't good preparation [baggage area was down one end away from our start areas]. They used the park & ride system which was very busy but cheap!

This fantastic event attracts around 20,000 runners; there is something for everyone from the marathon to half marathon, 5k and mile. The two main races take in all the famous sights such as Penny Lane, the Cavern Club and both football stadiums, China Town. The races start outside the Echo Arena close to the Liver building.

Duncan and Simon took on the half marathon distance with Simon finishing in 1:55:24 and Duncan in 1:59:33.
