FUELS:

Low elevation: Fuels continue to dry out with the hot, dry weather. Sagebrush live fuel moisture is at its lowest so far this season. 1000 hour fuel moistures are low enough for spotting to occur and be a problem.

High elevation: Fuels have dried out some this week and could be receptive to spotting, especially in timbered areas with large amounts of dead and down material.

FIRE BEHAVIOR:

Low elevation: With moderate winds, high intensity crown runs could occur. Moderate to long range spotting could compound control efforts. Take a few extra minutes to scout and come up with a plan of action.

High elevation: Fire behavior will probably remain low to moderate. Gusty winds could cause rapid spread and moderate range spotting if an ignition occurs. Maintain situational awareness at all times.

PROGNOSIS: A moist Pacific storm will continue to bring showers and thunderstorms through this evening. A cold front associated with this storm will sweep southeastward across the area today with drier air and cooler temperatures in its wake. By Wednesday temperatures will approach near normal values and then gradually warm through next weekend.

WILDLAND FIRE USE: Fire use can be implemented in all approved polygons other than those identified by the White River Field Office.
