Join us for a focused review of resources you will need to study for the NAMSS CPCS/CPMSM certification tests. Come prepared to participate in an intense, fast pace overview of the study resources defined in the NAMSS Candidate Handbook. You will also receive an organized outline on how and what to study for your certification exams.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES – Upon completion of this conference, Medical Staff Professionals will be able to:
ü Gain knowledge of Roberts Rules of Order, EMTALA Requirements, Credentialing Standards for The Joint Commission, NCQA, HFAP, URAC, CMS, and AAAHC
ü Understand important legal cases that have helped drive our industry
ü Understand information regarding board certification, healthcare acronyms, medical terminology, legal terminology and information regarding the NPDB.
ü Understand information regarding medical services administration, risk management and information management (in preparation for the CPMSMS examination)

PRESENTER:
Janet L. Wilson, CPMSM, CPCS: Janet has been involved in the medical staff services, quality and credentialing industry for the past 27 years. Her credentialing experience extends to hospitals, managed care and the CVO environment. She is currently the Regional Director of Credentialing Services for Banner Health’s Western Region providing direction and oversight for the Western Region CVO, is located in Colorado, and serves as advisor and consultant for the Western Region Medical Staff Offices in six states. Janet consults on medical staff organization issues, bylaws review and revision, development and maintenance of privilege forms, regulatory and accreditation compliance, credentialing/ recredentialing and the FPPE/OPPE process. Janet has held professional leadership positions during her career as: Board of Directors of the national Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) and the Tex Society of Medical Staff Services, and President of TSMSS. She has served as an independent educator/consultant in the areas of credentialing, certification and medical staff services for 10 years, has conducted onsite and teleconference CPCS focused study groups and professional development courses over the past 8 years. Janet has a passion for education and certification in the medical services industry.
