Course Description:
A historical and contemporary analysis of the role of the religious factor in the Ugandan society. It observes the reality off religious pluralism in the Ugandan context by tracing the historical introduction of various religions like Islam and Christianity and the subsequent proliferation of various religious movements, both from abroad and within. Uganda consideration is made of various case studies from various religious traditions like indigenous ones, Indian, Islamic, Christian and others. Groups like Bamalaki, Balokole and other revival movements, Ahmaddiya and indigenous movements like Basezi.
