LETTER OF AGREEMENT
REGARDING
STUDENT OPINION SURVEYS - Revised
The parties agree to appoint a Committee to study and make recommendations to the Chancellor of CSUS and the President of CSU-AAUP regarding the use of student opinion surveys as provided for in Articles 4.11.7 and 4.11.8 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the parties.
1. The Committee shall consist of eight (8) individuals: four (4) tenured members of CSU-AAUP at the rank of Associate Professor or above, one from each of the universities, appointed by the President of CSU-AAUP and four (4) academic officers at the rank of Dean or above, one from each of the universities, appointed by the Chancellor of CSUS.
2. The Committee shall be appointed no later than January 15, 2007.
3. The Committee shall investigate and make recommendations, in consultation with the Senates of the four universities established in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the parties, on the following:
a. Essential elements that should be part of all student opinion surveys;
b. Method of administration of the student opinion surveys;
c. Frequency with which student opinion surveys should be administered;
d. Reporting the results of the student opinion surveys; and
e. Appropriate use of the results of the student opinion surveys.
4. The Committee shall submit a preliminary report no later than September 1, 2007 and a final report no later than February 28, 2008. If the Committee finds that additional time is required to complete its work, it may request an extension of these deadlines from the Chancellor of CSUS and the President of CSU-AAUP.
5. The Chancellor of CSUS and the President of CSU-AAUP or their respective designees shall determine by mutual agreement if and when any or all of the Committee’s recommendations shall be implemented.
