Mission
The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
Objective
Serve as the volunteer “company leader” for your company for March of Dimes March for Babies. You will work in conjunction with your March of Dimes staff partner to ensure that your company has fun and reaches its participation and financial goals.
Responsibilities
· Work with your March of Dimes staff partner to build a plan and set goals for your company’s participation. Obtain CEO support for the plan.
· Recruit team captains and other company leadership based on the plan by the mutually agreed upon date. Team captains should be secured two weeks after Goal-Setting Meeting.
· Monitor team progress throughout the campaign to insure team goals are met.
· Work with your team captains to ensure that they are recruiting participants & “top participants.” Submit their names by the agreed upon date. Complete the participant spreadsheet and return to your March of Dimes staff partner.
· Work with your CEO to initiate an “Executive Challenge” as outlined in the overall company plan.
· Work with your CFO or appropriate company staff person to initiate a Vendor Campaign.
· If appropriate, develop a plan to maximize matching gift opportunities.
· Set up internal company “Kick-off” and “Rallies” to build enthusiasm for participation in March for Babies
· Encourage team captains and participants to use marchforbabies.org as a fundraising tool throughout the March for Babies campaign.
· Attend March for Babies. National March for Babies day is April 24th, 2010: However, some March for Babies events may occur before or after this date.
