· ALWAYS log-out at the end of the day.

· You are not free to surf the internet or play around unless I designate a free time.

Procedure for “unpacking” your laptop.

· WALK up to the computer cart in PAIRS as I call on you.

· Find out what your “tech” number is. It is located next to your seat number on the class grades sheet in the back of the room.

· Look for you laptop number (same as your tech number). Find your laptop and GENTLY pull it out of the shelf with TWO HANDS… NOT ALL THE WAY (be careful of the plug chord)

· CAREFULLY wiggle out the plug.

· Carry the laptop with TWO HANDS to your desk. Do not carry the laptop under your arm EVER. You may also express your undying LOVE for the laptop by clutching it closely to your chest. Please walk SLOWLY and watch out for plugs!

· GENTLY place the laptop on your desk in front of you.

· Open the lid and begin working on your beloved laptop.

Procedure for “packing” your laptop.

· Carry the laptop back to the computer cart with TWO hands. Do not carry the laptop under your arm EVER. You may also express your undying LOVE for the laptop by clutching it closely to your chest. Please walk SLOWLY and watch out for plugs!

· Find your laptop number (same as your tech) and locate the plug for your laptop. If your number is on the left of the shelf, your plug should be on the LEFT. If your number is in the middle of the shelf, your plug should be in the middle. If your number is on the right of the shelf, your plug should be on the right.

· Find your plug hole on the side of your laptop and gently insert the plug into your laptop. You will see an ORANGE ring around the plug.

· GENTLY place your laptop (with the open lid button facing OUT) into the slot that has the matching number of your laptop.

· Slowly return to your seat. Please walk slowly and WATCH OUT FOR PLUGS!

Consequences for not following the rules.

· If you’re eating, you can’t use the laptop for a week and you clean the laptops after school.

· If you’re doing something you’re not supposed to (on some other website), you can’t use your laptop for the rest of the day and the next day.

· If you’re wandering around the classroom without permission, you push the back wall into Ms. Terry’s classroom for the rest of the period.

· Talking when I’m talking… ten minute time-out from the computer.
