Justification

Our classroom’s windows are very exposed to sunlight during the whole day. The students need to move all the desks to the left side of the room where is not so much light but most of the teachers complain about the sitting arrangement although it isn’t even student’s fault. My students and I agreed to ask for funds to buy curtains for our classroom windows. That would help us arrange the sitting better, have nicely working groups, and enough space for teachers to move and help students during their tasks. The learning process would be more effective while the students would not need to move their chairs and desks because of the sunlight exposure.
Will others in the school or community benefit from this purchase? How so?
The classroom can be used for teachers’ meetings, and it may be used for presentations with the school projector so the teachers can also benefit. Since there is no any other group of students learning in the second shift, the groups of recitation and English performing groups can meet there. So the majority of school community may benefit from this purchase.
Will the purchases be useful long-term? For how long will you or others be able to use them? How?
The purchase will be useful for more than 8 years. During this time we will all be able to use it. We’ll take care of maintenance in order to have the curtains look new for long.
How will this purchase improve/enhance student learning?
The exposure of sunlight as I mentioned above is a distraction for the students from the learning process. They cannot concentrate well while they try to move from a space to space because of the sunlight exposure. If they will not have to do those movements they would be maximally engaged within the lesson and their learning would definitely improve.
