Throughout your novel reading you will be introduced to numerous characters. Analyzing the characters and their motives is crucial to your understanding, so think about keeping a journal. You will be responsible for creating a detailed analysis for at least three characters for the novel you are assigned to read.

Review the following criteria for a character analysis before you begin your novel. Characters can be described as crazy, angry guilty, proud, etc. and your page will examine and explain ‘why’.

The basic formatted page design should be followed: one character per page divided into four equal sections. However, what you choose to put in each section and how you choose to organize the items is up to you; just be creative and neat in your page design.

Your analysis should contain the following elements:

Character Name, Physical Description, and Traits
Age, job, relationships, etc. / Symbolism
include a visual associated with the character and explanation of symbolism
Analysis of Character
at least six different descriptive adjectives
explain two of your choices in two different paragraphs / Title of Book
and
Author’s Name
