To All Science Students and Families,
Chaparral Science Booster Club was formed with the goal of providing funds for the support and enhancement of our science laboratory curriculum. This financial support is especially important with the decrease in state education spending so that Chaparral can provide outstanding laboratory experiences for our students.
Funds raised by the Science Booster Club benefit all 2000 current science students, as well as future students through the purchases of lab consumables such as chemicals and biological specimens, and necessary equipment like microscopes, calculators, and goggles.
Listed below are just a few examples of other items the science faculty purchases with Booster funds:
· Up-to-date computer software, DVDs, and reference materials
· Materials for chemistry and biology labs
· Calculators for student use and for teachers to project on screens
· Supermarket, hardware store and craft materials for labs, projects, and class activities
· Dissection specimens
· Digital microscopes
We ask you to contribute the amount that best fits your budget. It is through your generosity that Chaparral’s science department can continue purchasing needed supplies. Please make checks out to CHAPTS and write Science Boosters on the Memo line.
