Cereal Box Project- Career Choices

You will focus on three questions. Who you are? What you want out of life? How do you achieve your goals? You need to brainstorm about the content and design of your cereal box. Everything on the box should relate to and focus on the three questions. Creativity, content, neatness, and accuracy will count.
Box Requirements: Total 110 points
1. 20 pts-Front Cover and Design- Create a cute, catchy name of a cereal based on your career and then design a cover for the box. The front cover should include a photo of yourself or collage. The front should also contain a slogan that you want to live by.
2. 37 pts.-Back Cover- The back cover of this box should contain your revised essay and a word game.
§ 15 pts-Individual’s biography three well-written, interesting paragraphs (5-7 sentences each) on the topic questions. Sentences should be well-written and grammatically correct.
§ 10 pts-Activity (Word game, Puzzle, or Map)—create an activity--crossword puzzle, a word search, a scrambled word game, search map, etc. that uses words/quotes/descriptions from your research. The activity should include at least ten words/questions. Answer key should be printed and placed inside the box. The activity/game is worth 10 points. Answer key is worth 5 points and will be placed inside your box.
§ 12 pts-Photos and captions. You must include a minimum of three photos with captions.
3. 20 pts.-Nutrition Facts Side Panel #1-On the side of your box, duplicate a nutrition label that represent facts related to your “What do I want” question. These components should represent your personality and goals. Also, include 3 photos. This section might include photos of your house, family, car, etc. It should include anything significant you can arrange in lists, charts, or small chunks. Neatness, design, and accuracy of content make this section worth 20 points.
4. 20 pts.-Nutrition Facts Side Panel #2-On the side of your box, duplicate a nutrition label that represent facts related to your “How do I get it” question. These components should represent your career choice and education requirements/goals. Also, include 3 photos. This section might include photos of your job, college, etc. It should include anything significant you can arrange in lists, charts, or small chunks. Neatness, design, and accuracy of content make this section worth 20 points.
5. 14 pts,-Inside Design
§ 5 pts.-Prize- One prize should be included inside the box that represents something about your career. It could be a drawing, a figurine, etc. It should also be very obvious why you chose to include the prize you chose. The prize is worth 5 points and should be creative, neat, and true to your career choice.

§ 9 pts.-Works Cited Page must be in MLA-see Mr. Turner’s Resource Guide for examples or go to www.easybibb.com.
6. 4 pts: This instruction sheet/rubric must be turned in with the final project

All words are spelled and capitalized correctly. Sentence structure looks great! No run-ons or fragments are in this biography—if not you receive half credit.

-6 pts: 3 photos are included on the back.
-6 pts: 3 captions are included to describe the photos.
Word Game ______________/10 pts
-10 pts: Contains 10 words/phrases/quotes/items that are related to the career: Crossword puzzles will only get 7 points. Answer key is included inside the box
