Catch the Dance Craze This Fall

October 19—From popular TV shows to the local club scene, it seems as if everyone is dancing these days. What about you? Learn the latest Latin dance moves with Santiago Canyon College’s Community Services program. Two classes begin this Saturday, October 22, that will have you dancing by the holiday season. And you don’t even have to bring a partner!

“Sizzling Salsa” is a great way to get some exercise and have fun at the same time. Get started now with a six-week class that meets on Saturday afternoons from 2:00 to 3:15 p.m.

In “Hot Latin Dance,” you’ll learn the basics of some of the most popular dances in the Latin club scene. The flirtatious cha-cha, the versatile meringue, the romantic rumba and the sexy cumbia will be taught on six Saturday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.

The instructor for both dance classes is Salomon Rivera, who has taught Latin dancing for 13 years. Rivera recently won the International Salsa and Hustle Competition in Miami.

The fee for each dance class is $59. The attire is casual dress, tennis or soft soled shoes (no hard heels permitted). “Sizzling Salsa” and “Hot Latin Dance” begin this Saturday, October 22 at Santiago Canyon College, 8045 E. Chapman Avenue in Orange, building D, room 125.
