Job Purpose

To assist in the implementation of Cogent’s Careers strategy and operational plan, liaising with partner employers, stakeholders and education establishments

To support the Careers work for Cogent wide activities including supporting the successful implementation of a range of STEM careers initiatives. You will provide all administration support to the Careers membership offers and project activities Cogent wide You will work with Science Industry Employers and Careers Stakeholder partners to coordinate the implementation of a Science Industry Partnership (SIP) Ambassadors programme through employers and schools liaison.

Key Accountabilities

·  Liaise with employers and stakeholder partners to provide administrative support to and assist in the delivery of the careers operational plan including:

o  Organise an agreed number of events involving SIP ambassadors including schools visits, careers events and industry visits, including all related administration.

o  Organise the training of new SIP Ambassadors including booking ambassadors onto training, collating feedback and maintaining the SIP Ambassador database.

o  Point of contact for SIP Ambassadors enquiries.

o  Maintenance of careers information including factsheets, ambassador and schools materials to increase awareness of STEM careers

o  To ensure the interactive web pages and social media accounts are updated regularly to attract new people to the industry, sustain engagement and promote events and activity accordingly

o  Track and analyze feedback from all careers events

·  Support the delivery of careers based events for the science based industries as required

·  Actively promote Cogent and the SIP and the services offered.

·  Support the recording of progress against key careers targets.

Key Performance Indicators

·  Support the achievement of all membership and project KPIs for Careers

·  12,000 website hits

·  At least 250 SIP Ambassadors trained and the database maintained

Essential Knowledge Skills and Qualifications

·  Previous experience in an administration / coordination role

·  A self-motivated individual with an organized and methodical approach to tasks

·  Ability to work on own initiative and as a member of a team

·  Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders

·  Ability to work in a progressive and exciting environment

·  Ability to respond to frequent demands of multiple customers (internal and external)

·  A solution approach to problem solving.

·  Excellent IT skills, with the ability to create spreadsheets to track performance and produce accurate company presentations.

·  Valid driving license and own transport.

·  Enhanced DBS (to be arranged for suitable candidates)

Desirable Knowledge Skills and Qualifications

·  Previous experience in a careers related role with links to employers

·  Experience of events management including schools and employer visits and careers events

·  Experience of working in the science or related industries

·  Previous experience in a role demonstrating proven positive results and progress made against set objectives.
