Opening (5-10 min) / Students will have journal topics related to the content that they are learning for the week. Monday, students have a “research topic” to discover the content of the current topic. If a student finishes before guided instruction, they work on Micro-type lessons and practice for weekly tests.

Work-Time Activities (40 min) / Students will learn about Smart Art Diagrams and how to insert them into a Word document. They will create an example smart art diagram about themselves and include clip art pictures. Students will create the example radial diagram on the worksheet to identify goal. For each goal, students will insert a clip art picture and a text box. Inside each text box, students will type a sentence about the goal.
For the On your Own Project, students will insert a smart art diagram with their future goals along with clip art pictures and text boxes that explain each of their goals. Students will insert a table and list 10 short term, intermediate and long-term goals. Students willprioritize their goals from the most important to the least important.
