Assignment #4, Due The Last Week and On-Half of Class

Presentation of Your Watershed

This assignment will be a continuation of the water body assessment you completed in assignments #2 and #3. In a brief conference type presentation, you are to tell the rest of the class about your water body. Talk requirements:

  1. Total length - 15 minutes. If it is clear that you will measurably go over that time limit, I will cut you off.
  2. Use, but do not go overboard on, visual aids.
  3. Be able to field, without notes, reasonable questions about your water body, particularly those related to non-point source pollution issues.

Structure of your talk:

  1. An overall description of your water body. How big is it, where does the water come from, what are the uses of the water body - primary and secondary, what are the land uses, and how it would be categorized to a lay audience?
  2. What you feel is the primary non-point source pollution threat to the water body and why.
  3. How that non-point source pollution would be best managed.
