Description: / This award honors a local Board leader who exemplifies the qualities of commitment and generosity that were characteristic of Cliff Norman’s life. The Clifford P. Norman Award for a local board leader is established in memory of Cliff Norman, a Board member of both Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit and of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America for more than 25 years. Cliff left a legacy of care and good will as an emissary for BBBS in countless local and national efforts.Procedure: / To nominate an individual, in addition to this form, please submit a typed, maximum, two-page, double-spaced description of the person’s qualifications for this honor along with this application form. The essay must include specific examples describing the manner in which the nominee has mentored other BBBS board volunteers and set a leadership example in providing resources, support, and connections among agencies and BBBSA.
Criteria: / The honoree will be a local Board leader who:
- Has contributed “time, talent and treasure” (this was one of Cliff’s common phrases) to BBBS both locally and nationally.
- Has contributed in ways to build one nationwide BBBS team, strengthening linkages among agencies, and between agencies and BBBSA.
