Anne Frank The Diary of a Young Girl
During reading, you should take notes in your notebooks, but this project will need to be typed There will time for reading, discussion, and journal writing in class. However, a lot of the writing work will be completed for homework. You must use all class time wisely.
Requirements for this Unit-
A. Two Column Journal---3 are required for 60 points
Each entry must have the page numbers and dates. Follow this format.

B. Vocabulary words- At least 2 from each of the 3 required readings
· You must write the word in the sentence from the book with page number.
· You must write what you think it means from the context.
· You must write the dictionary definition according to the way it’s used in the story.
* I will supply you with vocabulary words if you claim, you cannot find any.
6 are required for 18 points
C. Questions- at least 2 meaty questions per reading and their answers for a total of 6 questions and 6 answers for 24 points. ( Author and You or On Your Own)
D. Preparation and Contributions- 15 points – You will receive up to 5 points each time you are prepared and you contribute to your group.
EXTRA CREDIT—up to 10 points available for any drawing that you make as you visualize what you are reading. The picture must have a caption and page number from the book.
Read one of the books from the classroom library related to Anne Frank and complete the handout for it. Also worth up 10 points.
Journal 1 - pages 1-20 due Wednesday, May 11
Journal 2- pages 21- 40 (top) due Tuesday, May 17
Journal 3- pages 41--60 (top) due Monday, May 23
There also will be whole class discussions for which you will earn a participation grade.
