CALL FOR PAPER

The 10h Annual Meeting of the American Society of Business and Behavioral Sciences will be held at the Boardwalk Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada from February 20 to 24, 2003. The theme of the Meeting is Academic Freedom in Higher Education. Sessions will be scheduled from Friday to Monday. Individual presentation will be scheduled for either the Friday-Saturday or the Sunday-Monday block. A Job Market and a Book Exhibit will be organized from Friday to Sunday. Proposals for paper presentation and session chairs are invited from all areas of Business and Behavioral Sciences in any of the Tracks listed below. The deadline for submission of proposals is October 31, 2002.

Information about ASBBS including its publications is available at http://www.asbbs.org. Our meetings emphasize interaction and collegiality in cordial environment. Although paper proposals are accepted on their merits, we welcome empirical papers and papers with policy implications. All accepted papers are published in the Conference Proceedings if guidelines are met. The deadline for Proceedings submission is December 1, 2002. Submit your Proceedings article to with a copy to . Only electronic submissions are accepted. ASBBS also publishes a refereed journal titled Journal of Business and Behavioral Sciences. All articles presented at the 10th Annual Conference will qualify for review and publication in the Journal. Guidelines for submission to the Journal will be published in the Conference Program in November 2002. A sample journal is available at http://www.asbbs.org/publications.html.

To submit a proposal, provide a completed paper or the title of your paper and an abstract with at least 250 words with name(s), addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, and email address to an appropriate Track Chair with a copy to the Conference Chair.

A “Best Paper” will be selected from each track and will be recognized in the Conference Proceedings and Annual Banquet. To qualify, you must submit a complete paper. Emails of Track Chairs have been linked; they may be reached directly through our Web-based Call for Paper. If your proposal does not fit into any listed track, send it directly to the Program Chair or to the Conference Chair. All proposals will be reviewed. Additional Session Chairs will be drawn from presenters once all proposals have been received.

Authors of accepted proposals will be required to register by December 10, 2002. The registration fee for each participant is $200 if paid by December 10, 2002 and $250 thereafter. If accepted, there will be an Additional Paper Fee of $100.00 for a second paper (to be presented by the same author). The registration fee includes one Conference Proceedings, one refereed journal, admission to all conference sessions and activities, continental breakfasts for two days, and receptions. A block of hotel rooms will be available at a special rate of $85 per night. Participants may call 1-800-635-4581 to reserve their rooms by January 20, 2003. Thematic Paper and Keynote Speaker Competition: Separate proposals are invited on the conference theme Academic Freedom in Higher Education. Submit your complete paper to Program Chair by the deadline of October 31, 2002. The author of the best paper will be selected as the Keynote Speaker for the Tenth Annual Banquet of ASBBS with a special recognition.
