Alma Elks Lodge #1400 will dedicate its 10th annual “Field of Honor” on May 4th at 2pm. This inspiring field of flags will be displayed west of the lodge located at 610 W. Warwick Drive in Alma, MI. The flags will fly in honor or in memory of a loved one or special friend, living or deceased, who has touched a life in a special way. They do not have to be a veteran.

The cost for flags will be $20 if purchased by April 1st and $25 if purchased after

April 1st.

The Forgotten Eagles will bring in the 10 flags for the “Military Field” on their motorcycles, the Breckenridge American Legion Post #295 will perform their Color Guard's 21 Gun Salute and demonstrate the meaning of the 13 folds of the American flag. A fly-over organized by Jerry Freed is also being planned. Police and Fire vehicles will also be on display.

Persons who have purchased a flag will be able to place their flag in the field or have it placed by someone at the ceremony. All branches of the Armed Forces, Firefighters, Police and MIA/POWs will be honored and the names of loved ones will be announced as each flag is placed in the “Field”.

Everyone is invited to attend the Elk's Flag Day ceremony at 7pm at the Lodge at on June 13th when the Field is dismantled. Purchased flags may be picked up after the ceremony on June 13th.

The dedication lunch will consist of ¼ Rotisserie chicken, baked beans and potato salad for $7 and a hot dog and chips for $3 on May 4th. Lunch will be served from 11:30 until 1:30PM and then following the ceremony until 5PM if food is still available.
