Agriculture Career Research and Presentation Instructions
There are endless career opportunities in agriculture, but how would you know which one is right for you? In this part of the project, you will choose an agriculture career to research and share with your classmates.
Part 1: Career Report
Research your chosen career and create a poster/brochure/powerpoint with the following information:
1. Occupation Description
- Overview
- Aptitudes or skills needed
- Work Environment (examples: farm, grove, laboratory, forest, golf
course, office, home sites, nursery, etc)
2. Employment Trends
- Salary – Average wages earned for starters and top out pay
- Employment Outlook
3. Necessary Education and Skills
- Licensing or certification required for your career
- Advancement opportunities
- At least two institutions where training can be obtained
- Tuition costs for the chosen institution
- Description of the courses and length of the program for training and certification.
4. Does this career interest you? Why or why not?
In addition to the poster/brochure/powerpoint, you will also include a works cited or bibliography page, listing what you used as sources for your information on the back of the poster board or at the end of the powerpoint.
