The gateway course for the B.A. in Romance Languages with an emphasis in Hispanic Linguistics is SPAN 260 or SPAN 262 (for heritage speakers only) and should be taken before SPAN 300. The requirements consist of eight courses between SPAN 300 and 699. Linguistics 101 is highly recommended before taking upper level Spanish linguistics classes. The requirements are as follows:
