Knowing how to make line drawings for machine or glass shops is a useful skill. A machine shop usually wants precise drawings in orthographic projection. Such projects start with a pencil sketch and then move ahead to good drawings using AutoCad or similar software. A few weeks ago, we were installing a new laser for our light scattering apparatus. It required mounts to the optical table. This problem will let you practice making one of the drawings that led to successful mounts made by the shop.
