A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Robert Kearney.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Robert Kearney, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Robert Kearney was born on August 11, 1937, a native of Scott County, Indiana, and longtime resident of Campbellsville, Taylor County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on February 11, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Robert Kearney was the loving son of the late Henry Kearney and Rena Colvin Kearney, and he was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin "Ace" Kearney; he was the devoted husband of forty-three years to Mae Sharpe Kearney, and he was the loving father of two sons, Lynn Kearney, and his wife, Lisa, and Mark "Shiny" Kearney, and his fiancee, Angie Little; and a daughter, Libby Kearney Riggs, and her husband, Randy, all of Campbellsville; and he was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, Lora Riggs, Heather Riggs, Brett Kearney, Brooke Kearney, and Ryan Kearney; and

WHEREAS, Robert Kearney was an esteemed member of the Taylor County community where he was a devout member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church; he was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom, and he was a vacuum salesman and repairman for many years; and

WHEREAS, Robert Kearney will best be remembered for his contribution to children's sports in Taylor County, where he coached Minor League teams, the Little League Twins, and numerous all-star teams from March through August in his thirty-three year tenure; and his marvelous sense of humor captivated all the lives he touched; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Robert Kearney has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Robert Kearney, and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Robert Kearney.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Mae Sharpe Kearney, 2970 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, Kentucky 42719.
