English Language Arts

  • Language acquisition is phonics-based, rich in grammar and strengthened through a language-rich environment of vocabulary development and reading great books both individually as well as in a carefully crafted guided-reading program.

Algebra

  • Math is taught with attention to the key steps of skill and knowledge needed to progress to the next level. Math builds on itself, and a strong foundation in math numeracy is absolutely essential for success in later grades and in college.
  • Advanced learning is promoted with the integration of exercises such as mathematical word problems that excite and motivate scholars to think creatively using new skills.

Biology

  • Through an exciting partnership with the Museum of Science, our program is hands-on, allowing scholars to learn various concepts through museum visits, experiments, texts, and natural observation.
  • The scientific method is discovered by the scholar through repetition, and safety is explicitly taught. Scholars learn the history of science through replicating simple classic experiments.

World Geography

  • History is taught chronologically and across cultures, following the Texas State standards.
  • This classical curriculum brings the discoveries and wonders of the globe together, recognizing the rich contributions of all peoples.

Technology

  • Technology is a computer based class teaching scholars the fundamental skills, such as typing and creating Word documents.

Fine Arts- 1 semester
