OWEN COUNTY 911

January 19, 2010

911 meeting called to order by Rick Morgan

Motion to accept minutes by Brian Clark, seconded by Allen Cammack.

Under road changes there was none.

Joy Morgan spoke about Helen Bourne’s address on Hwy 22 East off Bryan Jacobs Lane which is a county road. Here address is 3355, Helen Bourne and her neighbor address is 3235 Hwy 22 East, Lucy Jacobs. This is the second time in 5 years they have called 911 and did not want to not be found by responders. The sign should show the road name Bryan Jacobs Road. They need to put up numbers at the end of the road. The homemakers have signs available to purchase. The county will put up the name sign. Brissy Lane was its name in the past. Campbellsburg 911 dispatcher Jason Long will put a flag on the computer MSAG on this problem.

NIMS 300 class-We are waiting on some people to take 100, 200, 700 and 800. Bill Birkle will schedule this on a weekend.

H1N1-The health department has the nasal and shots still available. No appointment needed.

State Police Post 5 have 14 dispatchers with them trained at the school. Trimble and Henry County has completed the Storm Ready Program. State Police will help us to complete ours.

Talk A Round frequencies-Try to use the fire frequency and keep 911 for emergencies. The State Police have the ability to scan the other frequencies with another radio of each of the county but that is a lot of frequencies.

The 911 fund is low on funds and this is due to more people going to cell phones instead of landlines. The charge from State Police to do our dispatching is $11,500.00. We have $9,000.00 in the fund. $.70 on cell phones and the landline phones are $.90 with prepaid cell phones we do not get the monies. The Kentucky CM Board is looking at changing the name to 911 Board and this may help with more monies.

The Minutes are being put on the owencountyemergencyservices.com website

We need to have everyone’s Email of any members so we can send information to them.
