9.21.1 SYSTEM SUMMARY
Glades County has a type 4, E9-1-1 System consisting of 1 Primary PSAP serving Glades County.
9.12.2 GLADES COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PRIMARY PSAP
The Glades County Sheriff’s PSAP serves as the Primary PSAP for all 9-1-1 calls placed within the jurisdictional boundaries of Glades County. Calls requiring law enforcement, fire or emergency medical services are direct dispatched from this PSAP. Sprint provides the E-9-1-1 service.
The Primary PSAP is located at the Sheriff’s Office in Moore Haven. Direct dispatching is accomplished at this center for the sheriff’s department, county volunteer fire departments, and emergency medical services. All calls originating in Glades County are trunked to the PSAP in Moore Haven.
9.21.3 SYSTEM MANAGEMENT
The Primary PSAP is managed under the direction of the Sheriff. The responsible fiscal agent is the Board of County Commissioners. The Board of County Commissioners has delegated this responsibility to the Sheriff. The 9-1-1 Coordinator is employed by the Board of County Commissioners and is responsible for the administration, management, and day-to-day operation of the 9-1-1 System.
The PSAP has one-button and 10-digit manual transfer capability.
