The Coordinator will direct the overall activity. All the volunteers will be working with the girls at the individual tables. The tables will be set for up to six girls per table. Some activities will be individually and others will be in teams or 2 or 3.

“In the Dog House” Design
Civil/Architectural / Coordinator introduces the uses and protocal for using scientific notebook. Then students work individually to build a model dog house from note card paper. Coordinator provides criteria for house to meet and some time to sketch in notebook. / Jean/Rose Coe

9:15 – 10:45 / “Build a Truss Bridge”
Civil/Structural Engineering / NvSPE STEM has 2 truss “bridges”, each ~6’ft tall. Coordinator to discuss a little about trusses, then divide students into 2 teams that will read instructions and assemble bridges. NOTE: Activity may take longer than time allotted
