Dear Mr Hyatt,

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000

Information Partly Held

Further to our recent correspondence, your request has now been assessed under the FOIA and we are pleased to be able to enclose some of the information you requested, as follows:-

  1. The start and completion dates for the building works on each school and academy, with attention paid to make sure that these are up-to-date as I understand that the estimated start and completion dates may well have changed since the BSF and Academy spending cuts in July/August.

Enclosed.

However, we are sorry to inform you that we are unable to release the following information you also requested. This letter therefore forms a Refusal Notice under s17 and the following exemption has been applied:-

Exemption:- s21. Information reasonably accessible by other means

  1. Which schools and academies in your area are either undergoing redevelopment as a result of the BSF and Academy programmes or will do in the future, listing which are confirmed to be going ahead either currently or in the future and which are awaiting a review before they can be confirmed. If all BSF/Academy developments in your area have been cancelled due to the spending cuts, then this is all I need to be informed of and you can disregard the following requested details.

The reason(s) for this is a complete list of the schools in the Telford & Wrekin BSF programme is included as Annex 1 to the Cabinet Report (page 13).

The Report is available on our website:

http://www.telford.gov.uk/apps/demservice/agenda.asp?reference=865

  1. The main building contractor and architect which you have awarded each school to. If this decision has not yet been made for certain schools, then the expected date when you plan to make your decision on this.

We have already appointed Kier Group as the design and build contractor for all projects within the BSF programme. In this role they are responsible for providing design (including architectural) and construction services.

Kier are referred to throughout the Cabinet Report and this information is also available on the T&W website http://www.telford.gov.uk/slc
