Second Paragraph(Square one of 4 square): For a literary summary, you should include the major characters, setting, and a major event from the beginning, middle and end of the story. Don’t add all the small details. This will go in box #1 of the 4 square.

Third Paragraph: Identify one attribute/characteristic for a major character in the story. Use a 4 square to plan this paragraph.Create a topic sentence and support your topic sentence with three specific examples of things the character says or does that demonstrates this attribute. This will go in box #2 of the 4 square.

Fourth Paragraph: State one of the themes of the story in a complete sentence. Support your opinion with three specific pieces of evidence from the text. Think of things the character thinks, does, or feels that make the theme clear. Also, think about how the major character is at the beginning of the story and how he or she changes at the end. Use a 4 square to plan this paragraph. This will go in box #3 of the 4 square.Create a topic sentence, and support your topic sentence with three specific events or character thoughts, actions, or feelings. Explain how your evidence supports the theme you chose.
